Rome is gorgeous.  I shot Nadia and Matteo’s after-wedding pictures in the eternal city and it just blew me away.  The light, the atmosphere, the pizza…. 🙂  It’s totally different to photographing in Germany.  Much more direct sunlight, and the temperature during the day was close to 40 degrees.  Absolutely crazy!

Rome itself is absolutely gorgeous.  With so many ancient sites, history and locations, I could have spent days just photographing in the city center itself.  I think I spent most of my time eating pizza, gelato, and taking pictures.  Sleep was just not on the list.  I’ll be back in Rome doing prewedding photography, so if you’re interested, drop me a mail and let’s talk.  Without further ado, here are the pics!  Enjoy.

lincy firnan-287

Lincy and Firnan’s wedding at the Redoute in Bonn.  This wedding reminded me of home.  Firnan’s heritage is Indonesian which is next to Singapore, and as a special touch, their souvenirs for their family and friends were little wooden shadow puppets.  As a kid I used to watch stories enacted by such “shadow plays” and this brought me back to my childhood times.  I had great pleasure covering their wedding and enjoy the pictures.

Location – Redoute

Eva Sebastian 08082015-411

Eva and Sebastian’s wedding at the Ecolut just outside of Cologne.  Situated on a hilltop overlooking the forest below, it’s a beautiful scene.  Especially on the the wedding day where it always seemed like raining, but never did.  The landscape and weather made for a gorgeous and dramatic setting.  Strangely enough, I was inspired by the movie “The Sound of Music” as I was doing the couple portraits.  I guess it must have been the hills.  Enjoy the pictures.

Heidi Max Tegernsee 04072015-364

This is the wedding of Heidi and Max.  A really hot day – around 35-36 degrees celsius.  But no matter, the heat didn’t dampen the enthusiasm and the mood of the couple and guests.  The ceremony was held at the Tegernsee, and the reception in Munich.  Many international guests who came from abroad to celebrate this happy day with the couple.  An awesome international wedding.  🙂

Rosie Stefan-335

Rosie and Stefan flew in from the US to celebrate their wedding among family and friends (from all over the world) in beautiful Allgäu.  He proposed to her at the top of the Eiffel Tower and to complement that, their chosen location was – Neuschwanstein – the beautiful fairytale castle in the clouds.  And there were clouds right from the beginning of the day.  This is the castle which served as the inspiration for Disney’s Sleeping Beauty castle.

Dominika & Eugen-484

Dominika and Eugen’s wedding in Bonn.  A beautiful day with beautiful weather.  We started with the standesamt at the Bundespräsidentamt – Villa Hammerschmidt where we all had to undergo an identity check before we could enter.  Also, the undercarriage of vehicles were checked for bombs.  It was the first time I experienced this while covering weddings in Germany.  Some pretty awesome stuff.  🙂

Dominika & Eugen – Bonn

The wedding of Steffi and Walter in Cologne.  Pictures below.  They opted to have some cowboy props for their couple shoot as they were going to honeymoon in Texas.  And as the reception was held at an air base, it was great fun to try and integrate the planes as background motifs for the couple shoot.  My most vivid memory – the coach game they played in the evening.  It was the first time I saw it and it was awesomely wickedly funny.  But if you’re the coachman, your perspective might be different from mine.  🙂

Location – Luftwaffe Airbase Porz-Wahn

DJ – Jutta
